Words Without Walls is an anthology of 8 stories written by our mothers during the New Life Stories in-care prison programme. These stories are often personal ones based on their life experiences and lessons, and are ways for them to explain why they're in prison to their children, as they don't get to see them regularly. These stories and poems were illustrated by volunteer artists, and some of these stories are fictional stories based on the women’s lives.
Through the book, we hope to remove the stigma around the ex-incarcerated and show how they can benefit from having the support from everyone in the community. This campaign aims to support the publication of #wordswithoutwalls and provide more opportunities for New Life Stories to hold programmes for the incarcerated and their families.
